VA hospital
The Errera Community Care Center provides a continuum of psychosocial, medical and educational services that range from acute to long-term rehabilitation and includes job training. Services provided include crisis intervention, housing, case management, education/skills training, recreation/creative arts therapy and vocational rehabilitation.
Yale Hospital
Yale New Haven Hospital was founded as the General Hospital Society of Connecticut in 1826. The first hospital building opened in 1833 on seven-and-a-half acres of land between Cedar Street and Howard Avenue, and Davenport and Congress Avenues. The original 13-bed hospital, called the State Hospital, was designed by prominent New Haven architect Ithiel Town
Yale University Art Gallery
The Yale University Art Gallery houses a significant and encyclopedic collection of art in several buildings on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Although it embraces all cultures and periods, the gallery emphasizes early Italian painting, African sculpture, and modern art.
Altschuler Beach
Accessible from an extensive boardwalk. Facilities include car-top boat access, fishing, supervised swimming and walkways. Beach parking is available at the Savin Rock Conference Center when not in use, street parking is available as well for no fee.
Savin Rock Museum & Learning Center
A living history for future generations, the Savin Rock Museum & Learning Center offers an opportunity to revisit the storied sights and sounds of the magical era of old Savin Rock, along with more than three centuries of West Haven nostalgia, including notable figures and historical events. During the summer season through mid-September, learn about the customs and cultures that captured the hearts and imaginations of six generations of happy faces through interactive video, hands-on exhibits and rare artifacts. Gift shop. Private tours available for 10 or more.
Sandy Point
A long stretch of sandy beach extending into New Haven Harbor that is popular for birding. Faclities include sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, unsupervised swimming, trails, walkways. The island mainly serves as a breeding ground for several species of shoreline birds, including the least tern, the roseate tern, the piping plover, the American oystercatcher, and the herring gull, among others. It is also used for recreational purposes. The island is a popular beach for people because of its seclusion. It is also good for parents of young children because the water doesn't get much deeper than knee-deep along the shore. Today, the island is in the possession of the Land Conservancy, but is run in partnership with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
Dawson Avenue Beach
A wide sandy beach with some shallow water areas provides an ideal place for a family picnic with small children. The adjoining Abbot Park on Ocean Avenue provides a lawn area with benches.
Facilities include car-top access, sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, surpervised swimming.
Ward-Heitmann House Museum
Oldest house in greater New Haven, constructed between 1684-1700. Post and beam Colonial museum furnished in several periods of past residents.
Morse Beach
A large sandy beach and visitors can enjoy the distant views of the lighthouse in New Haven Harbor. A rocky outcropping into the Long Island Sound is suitable for fishing.

Oak Street Beach
A sandy beach with a pier. The site is ideal for fishing. Night lights installed on the pier make walking out more pleasant.

Alliance Children's Theatre at UNH
Established in 1978 as an independent, non-profit, multicultural and ethnically diverse Theatre in Community, dedicated to the development of young people in the performing arts. The company offers theatre opportunities to a diverse population of performance artists and undeserved audiences in Greater New Haven.
Baybrook Beach
Small sandy beach. Site is ideal for bird watching and picnicking. Small parking lot accommodates only 2 to 3 cars.
Facilities include food concession, crabbing, fishing, unsupervised swimming.

Peck Beach
A narrow beach nearly a mile long. Two stairways cross over sandy dunes to access sandy beach and waterfront.
Facilities include pier, handicapped acces, fishing, supervised swimming, walkways.

South Street Beach
Offers visitors a sandy crescent beach and grassy area to enjoy Long Island Sound. This beach is the furthest removed from the city of West Haven strand of beaches to the east. Rocky outcroppings provide good fishing spots. It is well-suited for those looking for a quieter beach experience. Parking lot accessiblity is best one block north of South Street.

Bradley Point Park
On West Haven’s Bradley Point, Old Glory sways proudly in the breeze over the Veterans Walk of Honor which includes memorials for both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The Point also marks the start of a 1.7 mile beachfront path. The City of West Haven offers parking at each end of the trail.
Includes a small sandy beach and a developed walkway parallel to Long Island Sound. Park benches provide vantage points for visitors to enjoy extensive views of Long Island Sound. On-site parking for 40 vehicles for a parking fee.

Seabluff Beach
One of West Haven's largest beaches. Three sets of volleyball posts are installed for public use.
